DCIDS (PP&FD), HQ IDS

Air Marshal Rajeev Sachdeva AVSM was commissioned in the Indian Air Force on 11 Dec 1981. He is an alumnus of College of Defence Management and National Defence College, and has over 7300 flying hours to his credit.

A Cat ‘A’ Flying Instructor, who has been an Air Force Examiner and an instructor at various flying institutions including the Flying Instructors School. He was also the Chief Instructor at Fixed Wing Training Faculty, Yelahanka.

He has commanded a frontline Transport Squadron and was Air Officer Commanding of an operational Transport Base in Western Air Command. He was also the Commandant of the College of Defence Management, Secunderabad. He has also served as Centre Director (Aviation) at NTRO. Prior to his stint in HQ IDS, he was Senior Air Staff Officer, Southern Air Command at Trivandrum.

For his distinguished service, he was commended by the Chief of the Air Staff and is also a recipient of Ati Vishist Seva Medal by the President of India.

He is married to Mrs. Neeta Sachdeva and they have a daughter, Ms Garima, who is an advocate by profession in Delhi High Court.
