Lt Gen Manjinder Singh, YSM, VSM assumed the appointment of Dy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (PP&FD) on 04 Jan 2023.
Lt Gen Manjinder Singh is an alumnus of Sainik School Kapurthala, National Defence Academy and Indian Military Academy. The General was commissioned into 19 MADRAS Regiment on 20 Dec 1986. In an illustrious career spanning over a period of more than 36 years, the General has tenated important Command appointments in varied sensitive operational sectors and High Altitude terrains. He has commanded his Battalion in an intense Counter Insurgency environment in J&K, an Infantry Brigade at the line of Control and an Infantry Division as part of Strike Corps and Corps dply along LC and in CI Ops J&K. The General Officer was General Officer Commanding, 16 Corps prior to his appointment as Dy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (PP&FD).
His staff experiences includes challenging assignments both in operational and administrative domain. During his service, the General has been an instructor at Indian Military Academy and Indian Military Training Team at Bhutan. The General has attended various prestigious courses such as Defence Services Staff College, Higher Command Course and also had the distinction of attending National Defence College at Thailand. The General Officer took over the assignment of Colonel of The MADRAS Regt on 01 Jan 2021.
For his exemplary leadership and devotion to duty towards the Nation, the General has been decorated with Yudh Seva Medal in 2015 and Vishist Seva Medal in 2019.
