Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra VSM, was commissioned as a Fighter Pilot in IAF on 06 December 1986. An alumnus of National Defence Academy Pune, Air Force Test Pilots School, Bangalore, Air Command and Staff College, USA and Royal College of Defence Studies, UK, he is a Fighter Combat Leader and an Experimental Test Pilot. The Air Officer has over 3000 hours of flying experience and has flown more than 18 types of fighter & transport aircraft and helicopters. His important field assignments include command of a MiG-21 aircraft unit, Chief Operations Officer of a Su-30 MKI aircraft base, Chief Test Pilot at Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment and Air Officer Commanding of two frontline air bases. He has also tenated appointments of Director (OPAG), PD (ASR) and ACAS (Proj) at Air HQ (VB). Before taking over as Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Doctrine, Organisation and Training) he was Commandant Aircraft & Systems Testing Establishment.
For distinguished service, the Air Marshal was awarded Vishisht Seva Medal in 2013.
