1. Air Marshal BR Krishna PVSM AVSM SC ADC was commissioned as a fighter pilot in Indian Air Force in Dec 83. In his distinguished career spanning nearly 38 years; the Air Officer being a Qualified Flying Instructor and an Experimental Test Pilot, has flown a wide variety of fighters, transport aircraft and helicopters in the inventory of Indian Air Force. He has a flying experience of nearly 5000 h, including operational, instructional and test flying. The Air Marshal is an alumnus of National Defence College, Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, and National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla.
2. During his illustrious career, the Air Officer has held numerous important Command and Staff appointments. He was Commanding Officer of a frontline fighter Squadron, has commanded Air Force Test Pilots School, Chief Operations Officer of a forward air base, Commandant of Aircraft & Systems Testing Establishment and commanded a frontline air base. He held the appointments of Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Projects) and Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Plans) at Air Headquarter, New Delhi. As an Air Marshal, he served as Senior Air Staff Officer South Western Air Command, Director General Air (Operations) and prior taking over as CISC on 01 Oct 21, he was Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Air Command.
3. In recognition of his Gallantry Act, the Air Marshal was awarded Shaurya Chakra in 1986 and for his distinguished service, he was awarded Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2017 and Param Vishisht Seva Medal in 2022. He has been appointed as Honorary Air ADC to the President of India.
